The Playground Design Process

Visiting the proposed playground site

Once on site we'll spend some time getting to know how you imagine your new playground to look and suggest which materials are best suited to the theme in mind. We will be taking into account your budget, so we can provide the best play value for the intended space.

We then like to review any existing play equipment which could be incorporated into your new playground scheme, while taking accurate measurements and checking access and talking through any other questions you may have.

Our goal is to provide welcoming, robust and safe equipment that inspires children and adults to use our playgrounds and sports facilities for many years to come.

Designing your playground

Following a site visit we will prepare a bespoke design with 3D (CAD) drawings, together with detailed information such as surfacing requirements, and any safety considerations. We will then supply a comprehensive quote alongside drawings for you to peruse at leisure.

Our playgrounds can be as modern or traditional as the brief dictates, from natural woodland schemes using the very best hardwoods to themed modern steel structures we have the range and expertise to help.

Inclusive play

Whenever Mant Leisure design a play space we always consider creating an accessible inclusive play environment for all. Equipment can be sourced to accommodate all types of abilities and ages.

The range shown on our website is simply a taster of what we can supply and achieve, to discuss your requirements further or to book an appointment please send us a message via our contact pages or call us for an informal chat to see if we can help you.

supply and installation

From the initial playground or sports concept, to planning, installation and completion of your project you’ll have a single point of contact at Mant Leisure.

Project managed playground installation

We project manage all our playground installations, working closely with manufacturers ensuring a smooth and harmonious installation, with lead times on average of 6-8 weeks.

During the design and installation process we’ll be in close contact with you whilst managing all the different elements of the scheme.

Before the equipment is installed we’ll have a pre-start meeting with you to decide on the final location of the kit, then your playground will be ready for installation.

PLAYGROUND MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTIONS

For your peace of mind, we offer post-installation inspections which are arranged on your behalf and carried out by an independent RPII Registered Play Inspector, considering all up to date safety standards and advice.

We also undertake playground maintenance projects such as playground surface cleaning, replacement fencing, surfacing repairs, replacement grass matting or re-painting existing units with our extensive range of play grade paints.

We are always happy to advise on the best course of action to keep your play area safe, clean and protected.

Types of playground equipment

One of our main pleasures in designing a playground is suggesting the choice and use of materials; different materials and colours used judiciously can alter mood and sensation within the play area aiding imagination and creativity.  Our play equipment can be of various steels, stainless, galvanized, powder coated and our timbers may be hard or soft woods painted or natural, always tactile. All materials are long lasting and attractive.

Slide, jump, crawl and creation

Our slides are slippery, our jumps are a challenge, and our sensory play items can be sheer music with drums, pipes and cymbols. Colours and textures combine to give a totally tactile experience opening wide the imagination.  Swing from the jungle up to the mountain top overlooking the sea, watch the fish beneath as you crawl across a bridge to drop down into the desert. Anything’s possible in our playgrounds.
